wybaczcie, ale nie mam pojęcia, skąd można ściągać wrzucane pliki, a bardzo
chciałam ściągnąć Zero 7.
Przeczytałam FAQa, ale nie znajduję tam odpowiedzi.. Dziwne też, że
odczytuję grupy "bainaries", ale nie "binaries" (używam serwera

Największe wrażenie zrobił na mnie zdecydowanie album "Simple Things". Genialny senny chilloutowy klimat, które jednak nie nudzi, a na pewno bardzo ciekawi. Drugi krążek "When It Falls" nie spodobał mi się (może poza 2-3 kawałkami). Szczerze, męczy mnie ta płyta. Brakuje tu tej lekkości, jaką można było poczuć podczas słuchania debiutanckich nagrań. Z kolei "The Garden" nie miałem okazji jeszcze lepiej poznać, ale tak po 2-3 powierzchownych przesłuchaniach wydaje mi się niestety trochę przeciętny.
Myślę jednak, że Zero 7 jest ciekawym zespołem, przy który, warto się zatrzymać. Liczę, że po "When It Falls" oraz "The Garden" uda im się znów nagrać coś przynajmniej na poziomie "Simple Things".

There is one thing I have a bit of a problem with; there are several mods in progress (well, more or less - adding/swapping members and losing them again ain't no progress ), and they all try to include new things, great maps & artwork, wacko scripting and the possibility to include quake 3 models (so to speak).
Why doesn't anyone start a standard-no-extra's-mod-with-
basic-and-simple-scripting--ready-in-3-months mod (KISS (=Keep It Simple, Stupid) principle) ? By using the general guidelines, having an admin that can administer and set up the general enviroment en necessary servers, you create a smooth-working enviroment with cvs, todo lists, wiki's, forums, tutorials, collaboration tools, .. So, when a newbie wants to join in, he can start making simple things, that are still usable in the project. The user sees his precious work actually being use instead of having to learn l33t scripting skills for 6 months (or drawing for 4 months, or .. you get the point).
The community would see progress more easily (no more 'are you dead - no man ! But our admin/lead programmer/artist/grunt/site just disappeared), and be more tempted to join in (and stay).
We would also be able to actually play something (albeit short & simple). We could provide the teams with feedback and being able to actually release something, should give the team a more rewarding overal feeling.
Afterwards, they can use their knowledge and experience to create new, simple mods, or together go for a big one.

From some of the things I have read the updates can (you pay for) even include sompthign as simple as getting acess to whats behind a locked door... wich I think that should have been in the origional edition.
That's true - it's "The Orrery". As you and others have said, it's ridiculous for them to charge money for simple things like that and mage's guild teleportation, but they are technically "added content"
Patches, on the other hand, are just things that fix desktop crashes, glitches, programming errors, things like that, and they haven't released any yet. I haven't heard it confirmed by them, but I don't think they or any other company will ever charge for actual patches. Charging to fix technical problems would just be exploiting the buyer and would lead to charges that they intentionally made bugs so they could charge to fix them - once something like that gets out, they might as well just shut down the company because no one would stand for it.
Bethesda is being really, really greedy with these tiny low-content plug-ins, and I think it's disgraceful of them to exploit their fans like that, but those things aren't patches.

I believe that the more we know the less complicated the world becomes. You start out knowing jack with infinite knowledge staring you in the face. Everything you learn opens new doors yes but they were there already, even knowing they exist decreases the amount left to know....
I also believe that there is a "small" subset of all knowledge that is better to know than the rest. Learning the names of beers, for example, is pretty useless whereas the names of our planets or countries or great authors is well worth it in many ways. The trick is figuring out what knowledge is worth learning versus all the nefarious noise out there. I think this is why we have schools. Schools don't teach us things, really, they teach us how to think and learn. Once you master that, the whole universe is your oyster and the real fun then begins....
And the really funny thing is when you reach a certain point and start seeing how interconnected and simple things really are. Feed your mind, it has more storage room than you could ever use in 10 lifetimes and the processing power of a thousand supercomputers.

other things havent, and whoever said in this thread (too many pages back) that there are surely lots of people willing to help out. - well that isnt exactly true, very rarely do we get someone that offers to help with any current project or even offers their services.
take the manual for instance aload of people asked me if they could help rewrite the manual, jumping at the chance i set each person a little bit to do. The end result? never saw anything come back :S
But also with the new code in development and ideas floating arround to change part of the gameplay simple things like the manual have been delayed. No point writing it if it will be outdated in a couple of months say.
But as i write this im also coding the new help site ready to be integrated with the new game code, allowing faster access and ease to the reasons for errors and what to do about them, also starting guides and basic strategies to help them along their way. A full new FAQ with the answers to many questions brought to us in the #help channel. Also planned is information on alliances and how to contact them.
So basically its been a information gathering job for me atm, yet with other pia projects and this investigation into blocking time is really short. Yet i have only had one complaint about not being helped quick enough in the #help channel so i must be doing something right, but remember Obli effectively staff changes on the admin team are down to Ollie.

PHP is a bad language as far as languages are concerned.
If you're gonna do web dev ( like me ) and have to use PHP you're gonna use some sort of framework, unless you like to reinvent the wheel...
Available options are:
CakePHP - not too bad...
Zend Framework - Really GOOD, but big learning curve
and some others,
codeigniter and others which are less popular.
All of the above, even the good ones, are really bloated and have huge shortcomings because of the language implementaion.
All are also pretty much Rails clones.
Why do I recommend Python? Great language, very readable, you use less code to do the same things you do with php, frameworks available are Turbogears and Djangoproject - both are VERY GOOD, well supported and very well documented. The pros to using Python with one of those is that your development speed increases by orders of magnitude, your code will be more readable and you will become a better programmer.
PHP forces you to jump thorugh hoops to do many simple things, with Python its the opposite for the most part.
Ruby and Python is becoming much better supported all over the world, and I reckon becoming proficient in at least one of them is a great investment.
Even if you learn to program with one of those and switch to developing with php (because people hire php coders) you will have done yourself a great service.

Czasem trip hop, czasem downtempo, czasem popik i jakieś inne lekkie dźwięki. Oszalałam też na punkcie The music. Nie mogę przy ich muzyce wysiedzieć w miejscu. A lot of people think that mothers and fathers can walk out on their families and marry someone else and that only children will perceive it as monstrous. One of the Gospel passages often musunderstood is Matthew 18:3 "...unless you change and become like little children, you will not enter the kingdom of God." Many un- fortunately think of this as just a pretty phrase with no particularly profound meaning behind it. They think of it as requiring some vague kind of simplicity. The Gospels show that Christ meant much more than that.
Acceptance of God's law, of His ideas of right and wrong as eternal and inflexible for all men, is required. Little children do this very well. And everyone who hopes for Heaven must follow their example. Those who do not, to their total astonishment in the next world, will find themselves fulfilling the negative side of this statement: they will not enter God's Kingdom.
Christ used what seemed to be an odd phrase in referring to the damned: "... there will be the weeping, and the gnashing of teeth." (Matt.13:50). Christ repeated this phrase more often than any other in all four Gospels- five times, on five separate occasions-six times altogether! Why? Because He knew that His revelations about Hell would be the hardest to accept. We all like to think of ourselves as mature, and, from a worldly point of view, Hell does seem childish.
Following all Ten Commandments is childishly easy, childishly understandable. Eternal torment for violations for such simple things seems childish. It can seem too simple. Christ countered this response with numerous repetitions. Something can be simple and still be true. And He warned that simplicity is required in accepting the simple. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. The soul in Hell will say to himself: "It was all so simple. A child, any child, could see it, and I was so stupid that I blotted even these laws from my mind while I was on Earth and ignored multiple warnings from Christ himself.
St.Paul said:"...be like children as far as evil is concerned, but in mind be mature." (1 Cor.14:20), Christ is not calling us either to a vague kind of simplicity or to simple-mindedness; quite the reverse. We are called to maturity, but a maturity that has not blinded itself to evil....to strict ideas of right and wrong, ideas held so clearly and easily by children.

If you're gonna do web dev ( like me ) and have to use PHP you're gonna use some sort of framework, unless you like to reinvent the wheel...
Available options are:
CakePHP - not too bad...
Zend Framework - Really GOOD, but big learning curve
and some others,
codeigniter and others which are less popular.
All of the above, even the good ones, are really bloated and have huge shortcomings because of the language implementaion.
All are also pretty much Rails clones.
Why do I recommend Python? Great language, very readable, you use less code to do the same things you do with php, frameworks available are Turbogears and Djangoproject - both are VERY GOOD, well supported and very well documented. The pros to using Python with one of those is that your development speed increases by orders of magnitude, your code will be more readable and you will become a better programmer.
PHP forces you to jump thorugh hoops to do many simple things, with Python its the opposite for the most part.
Ruby and Python is becoming much better supported all over the world, and I reckon becoming proficient in at least one of them is a great investment.
Even if you learn to program with one of those and switch to developing with php (because people hire php coders) you will have done yourself a great service.

i totally disagree, php is so damn easy to use. i started with Powerbuilder (years ago) moved into open source, 2002/2003 with php. Im not too big on frameworks, using Zend Framework now. still like old school building. I still can't think of jumping through hoops to do something in php, seriously

the only people who i have come across saying PHP is bad are those who come very structured backgrounds such as C or Java. What i've found is they are also very arrogant about their own languages and tend to think they're better than you. I have found great flexibility and speed with using PHP. I guess its all in the way you use the tool to each his own.
If you are using ZF, take a look at djangoproject.com , look through the tutorials etc.. and you will see that ZF follows the same design pattern.
But Python has namespaces and other important things like that, and that makes the implementation much easier. Its also far from java, c++, delphi etc.

Goni nas wiele problemów, fizycznych, psychicznych, ale tu są pewni kosmici, których problemy sa nam bliskie, bo są podobne do naszych, a ponieważ w głębi duszy wierzymy w happy endy pragniemy czytać i wymyślać coś, co zawsze będzie mówiło o tryumfie czegoś dobrego... to nam jest właśnie najbardziej potrzebne.

This film is wonderful. I don't know where to start really. The story is taking place in a little city in Belgium or north of France during the Second World War (I believe). Elisa, the wife of Gilles, spends her day taking care of the house and the children. She is waiting for her husband to come home. One day, she suspects her sister and Gilles to have an affair.
The mastering of Frédéric Fonteyne is amazing. This story, yet simple, is beautifully written (with pal Philippe Blasband) and directed. Frédéric has such a great ability to show simple things with such great emotion. The acting of Emmanuelle Devos is stunning. The photography is absolutely amazing. One should see the film in theater!
I had the chance to see the movie before reading anything about it. If you like raw and subtle human emotions and are not afraid of slow-paced films, just run to see 'La femme de Gilles' before getting the story spoiled by an article. You won't be disappointed.
